Stockholm County Museum

Stockholm County Museum, the youngest county museum in Sweden, covers the geographical area of the County of Stockholm - with the exception of the City of Stockholm – i.e. 26 districts with more than one million inhabitants.
Our aim is to be of service to county residents living in districts without a museum. Distributing county-related information on the web is an important step towards making the county’s rich cultural history more easily accessible.

Stockholm County is Sweden’s richest region in prehistoric finds, and it is also the home of a  large number of objects with an interesting architectural and cultural history. So-called “cultural paths" have been marked out in various locations all around the county.
You can go from site to site by foot, car or bike. If you want to know more about these "cultural paths" and particularly noteworthy objects and places, please go to our website. Our website also contains information about current or upcoming exhibitions held at the museum, together with information about outings and trips arranged by us.

Most of the information given on our website is written in Swedish, being principally directed towards the people living in the region. But, if there is anything you would like to have further information about, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will do everything we can to help you.
